An introduction:

Mr. Eric Blodnikar, with nearly 20 years of experience, has participated in the design, development and documentation of a diverse breadth of architectural projects. Eric’s early career experience lies in base building office and commercial office interior design. More recent projects include residential (single and Multi-family), historic adaptive reuse, retail and entertainment. He has also dabbled in landscape, product design, product display, graphic arts and consistently brings a creative eye to any design challenge.

Eric extensively renovation to his 1908 Adam Morgan rowhouse, where he acted as architect, project manager, GC, permit expeditor, carpenter and often hands-on laborer. Eric converted an obsolete single family home into a modern, energy efficient, and separately metered 2-unit flat with the ability to add a future 3 floor. Historic rawness and clean modern aesthetics are expressed throughout. The wealth of experience gained through this project Eric now applies to his ever growing adaptive reuse and residential project portfolio.

In 2012 Eric worked with a newly formed commercial interiors firm named Wingate Hughes Architects and contributed design and project management skills to a series of noteworthy commercial office interior projects with a very high degree of client satisfaction. Project profiles on this site include, NCLUD, Canvas.Co/Work and Living Social on NY Ave.

While at Hickok Cole Architects from 2003-2009, Eric contributed to the firm's design portfolio and quality of deliverables on a variety of projects, including those highlighted throughout this website. As Project Architect and Assistant Project Designer, Eric assumed many project management responsibilities and achieved a high level of client satisfaction.

Previously Eric worked at Alliance Architecture in Annapolis, MD, creating dynamic interior office designs for national and international law firms. He also worked for Bechtel Power Corporation and Profitt & Pryor Architects in Frederick, MD.

Earning his Bachelor of Architecture with honors in 1999 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University along with a minor in industrial design Eric’s natural hands on material research and creative design exploration were the foci of his studies. His thesis study focused upon the adaptive reuse of a flour and feed mill complex into an interactive art museum and community arts center.

Eric’s attention to detail, cross-industry insight, creative concept design, and passion for his projects make him a valuable member of every project team.
